Happy Roster Day 2026! While it can be overwhelming to sort through all 22 team rosters and track all the player movement, here are seven big takeaways from today’s roster reveal.
Notable absences in the East
At least for now, 2018 league MVP Rowan McDonnell is not listed on the 2026 DC Breeze roster. DC’s franchise player has played each of the last nine seasons with the Breeze, and he led the team in total scores (66) and plus/minus (+41) in 2025.
For Boston, reigning Defensive Player of the Year Tannor Johnson-Go is not listed on the 2026 Glory roster. Johnson-Go has played in four of Boston’s five seasons and played a career-high 11 games in 2025, leading the defense to the second best D-line conversion rate in the league.
Toronto looks the most different of any East team, after losing the Lewis brothers (James and Wilkie) as well as their big-name international additions from a year ago. However, they have brought back Aki Muraoka from Japan, and Rush legend Isaiah Masek-Kelly (!) appears to be making a comeback.
Reinforcements in Atlanta
While they won’t have Cameron Brock again this year, the Hustle have added former Shred star Will Selfridge and former Thunderbirds assist-leader Pat Earles. Selfridge averaged 6.0 scores per game last season, tied for 10th best in the league, and he’ll be reunited with former Shred teammate Sean Connole, who is back for his second season with Atlanta in 2026. Earles is on a UFA roster for the first time since throwing over 60 assists for the Thunderbirds in 2017; including playoffs, Earles has thrown 60-plus assists in two of his three pro seasons (2015, 2017).
Austin replenishes their core
In addition to a handful of returners from last year, Matt Armour, Duncan Fitzgerald, and Evan Swiatek are back with the Sol after taking a year off. All played an integral part in Austin’s Championship Weekend run in 2023 and should be back in the spotlight in 2026. And another fun addition for the Sol: all-time UFA blocks leader Ryan Drost will suit up for Austin this year after 11 seasons with New York.
New York’s splashy offseason
2024 First Team All-UFA selection Alex Atkins and 2025 Rookie of the Year Daan De Marrée headline the new additions for New York, and they’ve also added a couple veteran depth pieces in Braden Eberhard from Salt Lake and Elliott Moore from Austin. Atkins and De Marrée could put on a show this season, and with stars like Marques Brownlee, Antoine Davis, Ben Jagt, John Randolph, and Jack Williams all returning, this could be the year New York gets back on top.
Boston gets deeper
Three UFA veterans will suit up for Boston for the first time this season, as Franky Fernandez (from Atlanta), Kai DeLorenzo (from Madison), and Thomas Edmonds (from DC) join the reigning champs in an effort to repeat in 2026. Fernandez should slot in on the D-line as a playmaking defender, while DeLorenzo and Edmonds bring plenty of versatility to both sides of the disc. Glory also added Lander Decraene, brother of MVP Tobe Decraene, who also plays for Belgium’s national team.
Indy and Minnesota lead arms race in the Central
It’s worth revisiting the high-profile offseasons of both Indianapolis and Minnesota. Whether it’s the guys returning for Indy (all-time UFA goal leader Cam Brock, 2025 All Defense selections Xavier Payne and William Wettengel), UFA vets coming from other teams (Jake Felton, Nate Little, Jonathan Mast, and James Pollard), or exciting young prospects (Hawkins brothers, Kai Creed, and Isaiah Mason), there’s a lot to look forward to watching and while it’s unclear how all the pieces will fit together, it feels like the AlleyCats’ ceiling has never been higher. But the Central Division still runs through Minnesota, and after retooling this offseason with a trio of West Division standouts—2024 DPOY Lukas Ambrose, 2025 All Defense selection Noah Coolman, and college champion Nate De Morgan—the Wind Chill will again be the favorites to represent the Central Division at Championship Weekend in August.
Salt Lake brings back familiar faces
It won’t be easy to fill the absence of Will Selfridge, but Salt Lake is getting back several returners to bolster their depth this year. Simon Dastrup, Ben Hoffman, Jonny Hoffman, Joe Merrill, and Everett Saunders—all guys that have played significant minutes in previous years for the Shred—are back in 2026 after sitting out or playing elsewhere last season. The team also added Carson Armstrong from Austin, who finished top five on the Sol in both completions and total yards last season. With these additions plus the return of mainstays like all three Yorgasons, Jordan Kerr, and others, Salt Lake is in great shape to make it five 10-win seasons in a row.
