The Last Undefeated Team

June 8, 2018
By Louis Zatzman

Even though 2018 marks the sixth straight year of Toronto’s brash dominance over its East Division foes, it also denotes a slightly fresh, original era for the Rush. The Rush are better than their divisional rivals, just as they always have been. But the last undefeated team in the AUDL is conquering its opponents in ways new and old, tried and novel.

“Things are different, but things are the same,” said defensive captain Bomber Powell.

AUDL East Cross Border Challenge

By Owen Krucoff

Since the birth of the first Canadian expansion team in 2013, U.S. and Canadian teams have battled for supremacy on the AUDL field. The northern neighbors dominated the first few years of the international rivalry, but the U.S.-based teams have closed the gap, coming up just one game short in last year’s Cross Border Challenge.

Rush to Face Breeze in DC

By Louis Zatzman

If the Toronto Rush have had a weakness in the past, it’s been playing in D.C. In 2017, the Rush were spanked twice by the Breeze at home, with embarrassing scores of 32-21 and 25-17. In 2016, the Rush also lost once to their divisional foes. Those three games represent half of the Rush’s all-time regular season losses. Even if winning 33-20 against the Breeze in Toronto earlier this year is a temporary salve, the Rush won’t be happy until they win in D.C.

Round three of any golf major is often called “Moving Day,” where the leaders try not to self-destruct and the challengers hope for a few magical shots to bring them back into the mix of top contenders. If you’re in the hunt by Saturday’s sunset, you have guaranteed yourself a chance in the final round, when it matters most.

New Location Same Result - Rush beat Royal in Quebec City

By Louis Zatzman

The Royal excursion to Quebec City was a success in every way imaginable for Montreal except one: the Toronto Rush won again, this time 24-20. They’re now 8-0 on the season. The official attendance count was 1570 people, who could barely fit into the stands. The Royal proved yet again that their fan base is unsurpassed in loyalty and passion around the league, as even Rush players raved about the crowd after the game.
